A friend of mine recently asked for a favor that I absolutely couldn't say no to. She wants me to help her find a blouse pattern so she can finally stop obsessing over a gorgeous top she saw and loved but couldn't buy last weekend. She loved everything about the shape, but not the fabric or color and she found out it wasn't available in anything else. It has nice clean lines, a boxy slightly cropped fit, boat neckline, and bracelet sleeves, like something right off a minimalist runway.
She's not a sewer herself, so she immediately turned to me with that look of "could we make this?" and now dear friends, we're on a mission.
I've been trying to track down a pattern that'll give us what we want and still but the tricky part is getting the neckline and silhouette right. It needs to be boxy without being shapeless.
So what pattern would you reco when someone wants a modern, elevated blouse with strong lines and a simple finish? Ideally something with a bateau or jewel neckline, straight silhouette, and set in sleeves (or even a dolman variation if it still holds structure).
