Hi everyone, I’m running a sewing club at my school and the students voted for cosplay projects, as expected! Most are beginners, any ideas for easy starter builds that still feel exciting? I was thinking cloaks or simple anime uniforms. Also, how do you keep things budget-friendly with fabric?

Hi there! Love that your club chose cosplay, such a fun way to learn sewing. I helped run a similar group last year, and we started with cloaks and basic tunics. They’re customizable and easy to make. Maybe you can start with some Harry Potter cosplay? For fabric, check out thrift stores or ask local theaters for scraps, they often donate!

depends on what kind of anime uniform, making clothes can be pretty difficult for beginners. try to make something simpler, like a totebag or maybe an iPad/ laptop sleeve
