I can't believe I've only been sewing for 3 months, and I'm really struggling with neckbands LOL they feel like the trickiest part of the whole process. Any pros willing to share some tips or tricks? I'd love to hear your advice on how to nail this.
The biggest game-changer for me was ditching the "just stretch and sew" method. I instead pin the neckband to the neckline at the center front, center back, and both shoulder seams. Once those are secure, I add a few more pins in between, making sure the fabric is distributed evenly without overstretching it. Then, I gently stretch the neckband just enough to lay flat with the neckline as I sew. Another thing to check is your seam allowance since sometimes just being a hair off can make all the difference. Keep at it, and you'll get it to click!I can't believe I've only been sewing for 3 months, and I'm really struggling with neckbands LOL they feel like the trickiest part of the whole process. I do the same! Works well every time and seam allowance is critical! The biggest game-changer for me was ditching the "just stretch and sew" method.
