hand protector gear for hand sewing

I'm trying to get my teen daughter into hand sewing. just, the basics, nothing crazy. But I want it to be as safe as possible, she's quite clumsy
I need something better than a regular thimble, like some next level hand armor that won't totally mess up her ability to actually stitch.
Has anyone found any special gloves, fingertip covers, or anything ultra protective that made the first few hand sewing sessions less stabby for a beginner?

Silicone finger covers and padded leather thimbles work better than the usual kind since they cover more area but still let you hold the needle. Some people also use thin crafting gloves with reinforced tips. Is she working with thicker fabric or just something like cotton? That could help figure out what’ll be most comfortable and safe.

I used leather fingertip pads at first and they helped a lot. They stick on and don’t slide around like thimbles do. Does she have trouble pushing the needle or just avoiding pokes?
