How to iron without an iron?

My mom's house has seriously awful wiring, like, 18 century bad. She definitely can't plug in a regular iron without risking a short circuit (it's safe, but the electrical system is just ancient and overloaded).
Since getting the house fully rewired is a long way off, what are some good, safe alternatives to using a traditional iron that she could use for her clothes? Any clever tricks to get wrinkles out without plugging in a high wattage appliance?

ironing without an iron huh? okay, how about the shower steam method? hang wrinkled garments on a hanger in the bathroom while taking a hot shower
the steam generated will help relax the fabric fibers and release wrinkles
make sure to close the door and windows to trap the steam, and give it about 15 minutes to work

Yes! Steam is basically nature’s wrinkle eraser. I’ve found it works best if the garment can hang freely so the weight helps pull the wrinkles out. Cotton needs a bit more time, but synthetics smooth out fast.
