Jeans alteration

I’ve got a pair of stretchy skinny jeans that fit great everywhere except the waist. it gaps about 2 inches. How do I fix it without ruining the stretch? thanks everyone!

I just used that elastic band trick where you sew a short piece of wide elastic inside the back waistband, anchored at both ends. It pulls the waist in without messing with the stretch or fit. You can also try waistband darts if you’re handy with sewing. Both worked great for me!
