making a perfect StyleArc Annabelle wrap dress

I remember that my late mom liked to wear a wrap dress, kind of like one of those StyleArc Annabelle wrap dresses.

I have a lovely fabric that I think would look great for this, but it's kinda light and I'm worried that the skirt would be flying open if there's a wind lol

So, hitting you all up for some ideas! Any suggestions for alterations to prevent that?

I was thinking about adding more fabric to the inside front panel of the skirt. Does that sound like a solid plan?

I also thought about just adding a snap or a button to keep things secure, but I'm worried it might pull weirdly when I walk and mess with how the dress hangs.

Has anyone tried something like that with a wrap skirt? What are your tricks for keeping lightweight wrap dresses from flashing the world?

Your concern about the skirt flying open is completely valid, and it's so thoughtful that you're making this dress to remember your mom!
Adding more fabric to the inside front panel is a great idea and a very elegant solution because it would give the skirt more weight and substance, without affecting the drape.
You could also consider a small, hidden weight like a curtain weight sewn into the hem of the front panel.
You're right to be cautious about adding a button, but a flat snap or two could work!
Just sew it a few inches up from the hem and well within the overlap.
It's often barely noticeable and can provide just enough security.

Add a small button to the right side seam allowance about crotch height, and a small loop to the side of the inner piece at the same height.
It the skirt is very loose and flowy, you can make a tie with satin ribbon. (Kinda like what a bathrobe does, but lower.)

If the dress is so light that you will need to line the bodice, I would line the entire dress with batiste. It will drape quite nicely. I love wrap dresses and skirts, and don't care if they fly open because I always wear a pair of pettipants under mine, then it doesn't matter if your skirt flies open, all you would show is a pair of lacy long pants, instead of a slip!
