My kid wants to be a caterpillar

Okay so I need help with this one. What fabric would be great to use on a caterpillar costume?? She's 8 so I need something breathable.. Please help this mom out. Thanks!

Hopw we're not too late! For an 8‑year‑old, cotton jersey is a great pick. soft, stretchy, and breathable. You can layer it with lightweight fleecefor the “squishy caterpillar” look without overheating.
