Following the Trapeze Skirt project, I would now like to proceed with drafting a Flared Skirt pattern as an application of the Tight Skirt.

There has been a change in size. The original size 88 did not fit properly, so I have adjusted it to size 99 (4XL). Although I am sharing the size specifications, the calculation method can be followed in the same way as before.

  • Waist circumference: 105 cm
  • Hip circumference: 125 cm
  • Hip depth: 22 cm
  • Skirt length: 65 cm

A flared skirt is constructed by closing the darts and spreading the hem. All dart intake from both the front and back panels must be completely closed. After adding the total flare amount and dividing it by four, the additional flare is applied to the side hem. The side seam should then be redrawn so that it connects naturally with the hip curve. In this case, I connected the added flare amount to a point 10 cm above the hem on the side seam.

I will further discuss the process of increasing the hem width after completing the basic skirt construction.

On a slightly unrelated note, I was born and currently live in Gwangju, a small city in South Korea. I am 32 years old (Korean age) and have been active under the name “Lumi Journey.” My legal name is Sojeong Gi. Moving forward, I plan to use my real name, Sojeong Gi, and will be updating my name on all overseas forums where I am currently registered.

My workspace is a small studio set up in the living room of my 30-pyeong apartment. Originally, it was designed as a painting studio. However, after studying pattern making with the goal of sewing pajamas for my family and eventually starting a dog apparel business, I modified the space to accommodate clothing production as well. My ultimate goal is to make and wear my own pajamas.

Initially, I placed a Toygate digital piano in the living room to begin studying music. Later, due to personal circumstances, I purchased a Yamaha digital piano and placed it on the small terrace connected to my narrow room, intending to use it when studying music. I also bought a violin at Kumho Land, near Gwangju U-Square. Although I do not remember the model, the sound quality was not very good, so I planned to replace the strings with a Larsen Virtuoso “Strong” violin string set to improve its tone.

The reason I am sharing this personal story is that while working in this home-built studio, I have been contemplating whether to continue using my activity name or transition fully to my real name, Sojeong Gi. I have decided to publicly introduce myself under my real name and move forward accordingly.

In the future, I hope to study and engage with many disciplines, including painting, music, fashion, physics, history, economics, science, archaeology, world history, law, architecture, computer science (coding), psychology, mathematics, design, English, geography, and philosophy.

However, my dreams and ambitions are quite expansive, and for now I remain focused primarily on painting, music, and fashion. I am also a member of several international forums, including physics forums, where I aim to record and share my studies. My exploration into fashion was entirely inspired by painting. This forum, as well as a music forum, was recommended to me through my involvement in art. I was also able to join The Fashion Spot, and I joined an international physics forum before I began painting, based on my early studies.

All of these memberships began when I asked ChatGPT to recommend communities where I could document and share what I have been studying. I joined this Sewing Forum through the Gemini AI platform. I would like to emphasize that my primary field is painting, as everything else I study has branched out from it. Therefore, painting remains an essential foundation for me.

If I upload a project here and then become inactive, please understand that I may be participating in other forums at that time.

Images and videos for the Size 99 (4XL) Women's Flared Skirt will be attached below once they are completed.

Thank you very much.
