Bag Making Project: Drafting and Constructing a Spacious A4-Sized Basic Tote Bag

While the tight skirt pattern project is moving along at a steady pace, I’d like to take a moment to share the drafting and construction process for a "Basic Tote Bag."

The video for the drafting process will be uploaded as soon as it's ready. Today, I'll be sharing the specific method for designing a basic tote bag that comfortably fits A4-sized documents.

First, the main body of the tote bag measures 68 cm (width) by 44 cm (height). I used a centimeter ruler for the detailed design.

For the materials, I primarily used 14-count cotton calico (Gwangmok) for the exterior and polyester taffeta for the lining. While I generally recommend non-woven interfacing for small bags, I used fusible silk interfacing as a substitute this time.

Please note: You must mark a 1 cm seam allowance on the fabric for all pieces. The pattern I have uploaded excludes this 1 cm seam allowance.

(2 Exterior pieces, 2 Fusible Interfacing pieces)

• Width: 40 cm
• Height: 10 cm
• Folding Line: 2.5 cm
