I’m recreating a 1940s swing dress based on a vintage pattern I found at a flea market. Not sure what fabric to use. I want it to drape well but still feel authentic. What do you recommend?
I’d go with rayon if you want that flowy skirt effect and it is period-correct, if I may say so. Cotton lawn works too if you’re aiming for something more casual and breathable.
sundress usually use breathable fabrics like cotton, linen, or rayon. depends on what kind of sundress you want to make.
you can also choose seersucker, chiffon if you want something lightweight and textured
