French seams or Hong Kong binding?

I'm making this cute peplum top for my teen daughter. the fabric is silk taffeta and I'm a little confused about the seams for finishing. it's a form fitting, sleeveless, high neck peplum top with seams from the mid shoulder to the end of the garment, so in total, there are eight seams all around the heavier silk taffeta fabric.
I'm also thinking about putting a hidden zipper on the left side seam. So should I go for French seams or Hong Kong binding on the inside?
what do you, pro stitchers, do if you were me?

I’d lean Hong Kong binding here since taffeta can fray, and binding locks it down beautifully. French seams are elegant but can feel stiff in heavier fabrics, especially with a fitted peplum.
