Hello everyone,

Coming here from SMF as I received an email telling me a forum had been created for another one of my hobbies!

I’m Charlie, been sewing for about 10 years. I’m self-taught and live in Ireland, love making dresses that I almost never wear and have been guilty of breaking a needle or two when sewing over my pins.

Good to see you. I'd love to hear more about your sewing adventures in Ireland. Do you have a good number of sewing supply stores?

Sadly, we have lost our most-visited sewing store - Joanne Fabric so now, unless I want to order garment fabrics online, I need to travel to Kansas City or St. Louis. Frustrating but I guess it will make me plan a bit better in the future.

Unfortunately not, our local fabric shop closed down a few months back so now I get most of my fabric in Paris when I go there a few times a year!

There’s the option to go up in Dublin too, but that’s a bit of a hassle so I plan as best as I can and bulk buy in the Marché St Pierre (if you’re ever in Paris, get down at the bottom of the steps in front of the Sacré-Cœur and turn right: you are now in the middle of the fabric quarter.
