Please help me find my first sewing machine

So I just picked up sewing and I’m really excited to create some tote bags and pillowcases (baby steps, right?). But now I’m staring at the endless world of sewing machines like a deer in headlights.

What sewing machine should a newbie like me start with? something simple but not too fancy I guess? I’d love to hear your recommendations before I accidentally buy a spaceship instead of a sewing machine!

Congrats on starting your sewing journey! For beginners, a basic mechanical machine like the Brother XM2701 or Singer Heavy Duty is perfect. Both are sturdy and easy to learn on.
