Sewing goals for 2026!

Hello fellow sewists!

I’m new here and my sewing table looks like a fabric tornado hit it. My 2026 resolution is simple: finish one project before starting three more. Bonus points if I finally learn to install zippers without fear!

What about you? What’s your sewing resolution this year?

I like your goals! zippers are all about slow and steady wins the race, also plenty of doublesided washaway tape
my resolution for 2026 is to stop eyeballing my seam allowances and actually use my seam gauge
I also want to dive into slow sewing and try some handstitched embroidery on my garment edges

Your table sounds like mine on a good day @martina_89! My resolution is to stop hoarding fabric “just in case” and actually sew through my stash. Radical, I know.

Seam gauges are the unsung heroes of neat sewing, so that’s a pretty good resolution @Br4ndybuck! And slow stitching on garment edges is such a satisfying upgrade/ it really gives pieces that handmade‑with‑care vibe.

I need to sew through some of the fabric I have. I used to hae a room full of fabrics, that I still miss, but rats got into it, so I had to throw everything away.
So, I' rebuilding.
Once or twice a year I like to stop by Hancock's Fabric of Puducah. Most of the time, I don't have a specific project, but I like so much of similar stuff it usually all goes together.

Went to the National Quilt museum there and was simply in awe of the talent on display! Sorry you lost fabsric to rodents. They do love to,burrow. We have field mice and have to stay vigilant -they are slippery little critters!

The museum in Puducah KY? I went to the quilt show once, and missed the museum. But I did make to to Hancock Fabrics.
