Trouble sewing a neat seam on lightweight fabric

Hi everyone,
I’m still quite new to sewing and I’m having some trouble with lightweight fabric. When I try to sew a simple seam, the fabric moves a bit and the line becomes slightly wavy. I changed the needle and adjusted the tension, but the result is still not very clean.

I’m not sure if the problem is my technique or the fabric itself. Any advice or simple tips would be very helpful. Thank you! :)

Wavy seams are super common with voile or chiffon. Shorter stitches and fine pins usually help. Sometimes I even sandwich the fabric between tissue paper, then tear it away after sewing.
