advanced beginner sewing project for my teen daughter?

My daughter loves sewing, and I want to make her something awesome! I already made a blanket, so that's out.
I can sew straight lines well, but I've never made clothes before. I'm willing to try anything with a good pattern!
Since I'm not a parent, what kind of garment or item would a teenager actually use and treasure? Any advanced-beginner ideas?

Confused how you're not a parent but she's your daughter haha! But to answer your question, an oversized tote bag or zip‑up pouch set is a great advanced‑beginner project, straight seams, fun fabrics, and super useful for school or hobbies. Way less stressful than jumping straight into fitted clothing.
