Help me with the French knots

I thought it's to start to learn embroidery but my French knots keep coming loose after a few days. I thought I was pulling the thread tight enough, but maybe I’m missing a trick. Any tips for keeping them secure?

Try bringing the needle up a tiny bit farther away and keeping steady tension as you pull through.
