need classic techniques recos and reference books

I want to start sewing all of my own clothes next year, focusing on classic and vintage inspired techniques

I'm looking for project ideas that have big difference (like pressing) to focus on now that make a massive difference in the final quality
also classic technique booksr reference, (preferably focusing on one garment type or topic, like fabric selection) that cover foundational to complex techniques for timeless garments
I want to master these basics before diving into complex projects like couture tailoring! Any recommendations?

Pressing really is a game-changer. sewing experts often say it’s half the work! A great starter book is Reader’s Digest Complete Guide to Sewing, which covers fabric selection and foundational techniques in detail.

I like the tailored look for myself, but others in my life like the more "girly" style, so I have a bit of everything in my books. If you would like more titles, just let me know. I also want my garments to look as good on the inside as the outside. I won't rush to complete something to get it done. Distinctive Details published by Threads Magazine, Sewing Knits from Fit to Finish by Linda Lee, Precise and Professional by Lynn Weeks, and The Classic Techniques by the Editors of Time Life Books...I bought this in April of 1999 for $9.28! I would go online and look at Used Book Stores in your area. In the past, I have used AbeBooks & Thrift Books. If you want or need more titles, just let me know.
