I’m restoring a vintage silk dress from my grandmother, but the seams are fragile and fray easily. I’m nervous about damaging it further. What’s the safest way to reinforce silk without losing its drape? thanks everyone!

Hi @coffeeMilk! When you mention a sheer fusible interfacing, do you mean something like organza weight, or is there a specific type that works best with delicate fabrics? Also curious, does hand sewing with silk thread make a big difference compared to polyester?
