Hello :) im new in this forum. Nice to meet you!!

So im a sewing-beginner. I download patterns and follow the steps.

The waistband is my biggest enemy. I improved, but what still happens often is, that the waistband gets uneven/wavy. Its a normal waistband without elastic. Only interfacing for stability.

What am I doing wrong?

My steps are:
-sewing inner and outer waistband together, and understich
- sewing it to the pants with 1cm seam allowance
- sewing the ends together (i struggle there too, to match it perfectly to the zipper area, but i guess there its more about practice and tips and tricks)
- turn it out
- topstiching all together = there is the problem happening…

So its my last step, where the problem happens.

Thank you so much for your advices <3

Nice to meet you @Merii92 and thank you for sharing! That waviness often comes from tension issues or pulling the fabric while stitching. have you tried letting the machine feed naturally and press the waistband well before topstitching? That might help!
